This page explains what happens to your information when you visit Hal's Bird Window, ask for the free Nectar Card, or buy the books. It describes what we actually do; it is not a template written for someone else's business.
Who is responsible
Hal's Bird Window, published under Hearth & Field Press, is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us at operaxor.arg@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you ask for the free Nectar Card. Nothing else is required for that form.
- Your email address and order details, when you buy the books. The purchase is completed on Lemon Squeezy's checkout; we receive the order record, which includes your email and what you bought. We never see or store your card number.
- Ordinary server logs from our host, which include IP addresses and the pages requested, kept by the host for security and troubleshooting.
What we do not collect
This site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social pixels. There is no account to create and no profile of your browsing.
Cookies
The pages themselves set no cookies. When you open the checkout, Lemon Squeezy may set cookies needed to complete the purchase, and the sign-up form is served by MailerLite, which may set its own. Those cookies belong to them and are governed by their policies.
Who processes it
- MailerLite — sends the Nectar Card and occasional emails about the books.
- Lemon Squeezy — processes payments and acts as merchant of record for the sale.
- Cloudflare — hosts this site.
These providers process the data on our instructions and for the purposes above. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Order records are kept by Lemon Squeezy and by us for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to operaxor.arg@gmail.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Children
The books and the videos are written for adults. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be mentioned in an email to the list.
